Should I Buy The Paint Before Hiring A Painting Contractor In Springfield, MO?

Most painting contractors in Springfield, Missouri already have a specific brand of paint they prefer to use. Check with your contractor to make sure that the paint is included in your proposal before signing a contract. At All About Paint, all of the materials to complete your project, including paint, is already factored into the proposal unless specified.
Our most recommended brand is Benjamin Moore (we buy from Spectrum Paint in Springfield, MO). Most interior projects we work on get painted with Regal Select, one of Benjamin Moore’s “top-of-the-line” interior paints. But we also use Sherwin-Williams’ brand paints depending on the different variables of each individual job.
In reality, we can use any paint that you want to use.
But, economically, it’s cheaper for us to use the brand(s) we recommend. This is because our painters are comfortable with these brand(s), which speeds up our production, costing you less money.
It’s also good to have the contractor make sure that your project doesn’t require a special kind of paint. Certain areas of your home can require different sheens or bases. Your contractor will be able to assess this before buying the paint, making it less likely to have gallons of unusable paint lying around your home (most suppliers do not allow paint that has been tinted to be returned for a refund). Also, your contractor should know the right amount to buy to complete your project yet still leave just enough for future “touch ups”.
So, to answer the question “Should I buy the paint before hiring a painting contractor in Springfield, Missouri?”, I would have to say “no”. Even if you don’t want to use the specific brand your painting contractor uses, it will be easier on you to let the contractor pick it up before he/she starts your project, no matter which brand you choose.
